Forgiveness
Likely have covered this one before because it's an on going process to forgive. Here are some thoughts that I listened to from an Andy Stanley pod cast. It rang true for obtaining peace in the turmoil we are in as a society, and I was reminded that peace in society starts with peace in families.
- To be in conflict is to think that your enemy is less than you
- It is a decision to meet in the middle and find common ground
- Yes, you are entitled to your feelings, the question is - what will you do with them?
- People who fundamentally disagree can indeed be friends
- Forgiveness is not an emotion, it is a decision
- Forgive again and again until it sticks
- Forgiveness is for us - you may not even need to tell the person that you forgive
- We can forgive, but we do not have to trust - therein lies the difference for freedom
- Do we forgive someone who has stolen from us, yes, but do we trust them, no
- Lack of forgiveness is a danger to our health and well being
- There is a terrible price to pay for discord in families, societies, and nations
- Let's begin to build a bridge wherever we can
Peace...and Happy Day of stopping your labor.
