Meditation/Prayer

Prayer is talking to God...meditation is listening for the answers. Meditation diminishes fear and anxiety by affecting the function of our fearful survival brain - the part of the brain that is a potent source of fear and self-protective behaviors.  It exists to help us asses and respond to danger, but for some of us, that 'always watching' gets out of balance.  This hypervigilant state can become a prison, and prayer with meditation unlocks the prison door.   Ideas taken from the book by Lee Lipsenthal, MD:  Enjoy Every Sandwich
