The Hope of the Future

 These are difficult days for many...here's what I found yesterday, 11/4/21 from Dietrich Bonhoeffer:

"We need to live the present with all its joys and difficulties, but the future should always beckon us. The future should not be significant because we idealistically hope that things will get better, for they may in fact get worse. Rather, the future should beckon us because the God who possesses the future will be ahead of us offering new grace, opportunities and hope.  Thus we live in anticipation of the things to come while at the same time being realistic about our present circumstances."
