Wounded Healer

Some thoughts from a concept called: Wounded Healer.

  • Look at people...really see them by looking deep into their eyes
  • Remember that aloofness is a posture that disturbs
  • Someone may be in great need and we will miss it if we are aloof
  • There are some who seek an attentive ear, a word that builds up, an ear that really hears
  • Real witness is the willingness to cry with those who cry, laugh with those who laugh
  • Make your own journey of pain available as a source of clarification and understanding
  • Our hope is based not on self-confidence, but on the promises of Christ given to us
  • Leadership that heals, is not just optimism, but it is grounded in the historic Christ event
  • It is our task to make liberation visible for others
  • The wounded healer not only looks after their own wounds, but also the wounds of others
  • They take on the role of hospitality where one can pay attention to the wounds of others
  • Hospitality gives insight into the human condition called loneliness
  • It allows us to break through the narrowness of our own fears and be generous
  • Take time for your own consecration so you are equipped to be fully present for others
  • Wounds are an integral part of our human condition
  • Our challenge is to help others - not deny their pain or take it away, but to share in it
  • A Christian community is a healing community
There is an epidemic of loneliness and depression with the pandemic.  These reminders may be able to help us see those who are in need.  Peace to you...
