Betrayed
Today, at church the pastor gave us a great lesson on betrayal. We have all, at some point in our life, been betrayed. He used the scripture in Genesis 45: 3-4 when Joseph's brothers stood in front of him and they didn't recognize him. Can you imagine that moment when he said, "It's me, your brother Joseph?"
The scripture gave us a solution for dealing with betrayal by following Joseph's example. He initiated the conversation by inviting his brothers in, then honestly saying what happened (you sold me!), and then gracing them. We need to tell our story to someone. To the one who betrayed us, and if that isn't possible or appropriate, then tell a trusted someone who can navigate the story with you and help you find peace about it. God is faithful when we and others are not. Even a great betrayal can be healed. Today, find peace, yes, even in the most difficult things life sends our way.
